Old Testament Feasts In Light Of The New Testament Series Overview

The Israelites worshiped and celebrated God in many ways including through designated annual gatherings known as feasts. Faithful Jews would gather together to remember God and His great works in special ways. But were these celebratory feasts instituted to simply look back at what God had done or were they also designed to help people look forward in anticipation to new realities that would occur in the future? We’ll examine the three major feasts of the Old Testament— Passover, First Fruits, and Weeks (or Pentecost)— and understand their meaning and significance in light of the New Testament. This fascinating study will enrich your understanding of the Christian faith by appreciating our roots in Judaism.
